Thank you Adam. It's overlooked and underappreciated, indeed. There are some things I can do to make it better, but inherently it's just a low headcount, low turnover industry, so it's hard to build affinity with the "corporate world" where one decides to leave the industry.
I had to explain to recruiters what equity research is when he assumed "Is it like investment banking?"
There are always going to be more investment bankers and management consultants, they will occupy many senior positions in corporations and tribal mindset implies they tend to like to hire their own kind. This part I am not confident whether I can change with my platform.
Big shout out to your achievements so far and the courage to show your identity. I know it isn't easy. When I I uploaded my first IG video post with my face on it, it almost felt like being naked in the middle of the street. You are miles ahead of me but I am also an ex-ER professional who is trying to become a creator (on a slightly different angle than yours) and I have very much enjoyed this post. Importantly it gave me the courage to keep going. As you said simply continuing these efforts when not much is happening are not trivial, the emotional toll is real.
