Great 2023 recap, thanks for giving us the background/foreground on your production process, Mr. Toad. Tech market is tough now, but you'll be at the front of the line once it comes back to life. My request for a post in 2024: short-sellers. Who are the best SS's, and what makes them successful? What are some the lesser-known (yet profitable) reports, and why were the campaigns effective? Especially interested in the role of unconventional data sources, channel checking, etc. Cheers!
I agree, excellent recap. I believe short sellers often go unnoticed. Although I'm not very confident in taking short positions, except when selling covered options, I still pay attention to short interest. This is because short squeezes can occasionally offer attractive short-term arbitrage opportunities.
Short sellers mostly want to go unnoticed - the "activist" types like Carson Black, Citron, Chanos are a rare breed in the ecosystem. I think Melvin learned it the hardest way possible.

Hmm, thanks for the post idea. This goes on my list as a wonderful idea to dig into!
