Really enjoyed your breakdown of the reliability data moat. That point about engineers knowing ADI parts by model number hits home. The switching cost argument is solid too, nobody wants to redesign PCBs unless they absolutly have to. One thing I'm curious about is how much the SoC trend will actualy eat into their discrete component business over the next decade. You mentioned they're diversifying into mixed signal solutions which seems smart, but do you think its enough to offset the socket change risk in comms and automotive? The China exposure is definitely somthing to watch too.

Wonderful article!!! Their specialised technical expertise, the mission-critical nature of their products, and the resulting high switching costs create a significant "moat" around their business. https://latebloomr.substack.com/p/analog-devices-adi-business-assessment
